Our School

Welcome to Meridian Early Education Center. We are a beautiful school located in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles. At Meridian EEC, we strive to provide a high quality early education experience to prepare students for success in school and life. We are the very beginning in a student’s path to become college prepared and career ready.

We value and respect the needs, languages, and cultures of all students, families, staff, and the community we serve. Our instructional program includes a setting which develops literacy skills such as oral language, listening, speaking, pre-writing, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, comprehension, critical thinking and problem solving. Our children become self-directed and self-reliant while participating in a planned indoor/outdoor instructional program. We believe that all students have a right to learn in a developmentally appropriate and challenging educational program where we integrate learning opportunities with high expectations.

At Meridian EEC, each child grows socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically in a safe, comfortable, nurturing environment. Through the use of an assessment tool developed by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division, staff members provide a personalized learning plan for each child. The Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP-2015) is a validated assessment instrument that covers the developmental domains of physical, cognitive, and social emotional development.

Another important component at Meridian EEC is our parent component. We value the role parents play as they are their child’s first teacher. The partnership between the home and school is vital in every child’s growth and maturity. We encourage you to visit your child’s classroom at any time and ask the teacher how you can be involved.

Center hours: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
Sign-in at time of arrival and departure.
Notify the school at (323) 254-6749 if you are arriving after your child’s contract hours, or if your child will be absent.
- If you plan to arrive before the child's contract hours, please inform the Office Manager a day before.
For safety, only authorized persons on your child’s emergency card and over the age of 18 will be permitted to pick up the child from our school.
Payment is due the 1st of the month for fee-paying families. Fees becomes delinquent after the 7th of the month, two-week termination notices will be given and rescinded if account is paid in full.

Helpful Preschool Tips

Read to your child every day. (Make it a special time to spend together.)
Give everything a name. (Help build comprehension skills early by expanding your child’s language.)
Create a daily routine. (This will help your child know what to expect and be able to prepare for it.)
Teach safety. (As your child becomes more independent, it is important to remind them to keep themselves and others safe.)
Play- (Children learn through play.)

We would like to extend your child’s time here with us. Students will remain with us until they turn 5 years old and it is time for them to go to kindergarten.
